Cross-fertilization between Chinese and Moroccan academic mentoring programs

Fisher Yu, Managing Director of MentoringCo, presented two mentoring programs which he organized and participated in China during the tenth webinar of the Innour-Mentoring program organized for the University Hassan II of Casablanca.

The first program was for the China Europe International Business School,No. 2 of Global EMBA programs in the world ( Financial Times, 2020). With a starting point in 2009, the program is to invite CEIBS alumni to be the mentor for its MBA students, the scopes of mentoring vary from person to person but the main purpose is to help MBA students to increase their exposures to the practical world, be more confidence, get guidances on studies and future job, career development advices etc. Over 2,000 MBA students already benefited from this program. It has been integrated in its “MBA Leadership Journey” program as well. Both mentors and mentees have benefited from such a program, it’s a dual direction learning program for both mentor and mentee. The second program was for the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) in Shanghai Jiaotong University. This is one of the China Top tier business schools in Finance. They invited quite a lot of alumni and very senior executives outside the school to be the mentor for its FMBA students. This mentoring program was called PAE (Program Advisor Expert) project. Similar to other business school mentoring programs, many of its PAE mentors and mentees benefit from it. The unique feather of this program was that the majority of these mentors have a very strong background in finance institutions/ bankings/ investments/ or CFOs etc. This in return boosts SAIF’s FMBA students’ learning and career development as well.
